Transitions/Change

transitions

Adjusting to change can be difficult.  Even positive life transitions tend to cause some stress. Over the course of a lifetime, you will experience a significant amount of change.

Some changes, such as marriages, births, and new jobs, can be very positive, but even these happy events will likely be paired with their own unique stressors.  Other major life transitions, such as moving, retirement, or entering the “empty nest” phase of life may cause a significant amount of stress, anxiety, or depression.

Sometimes it is helpful to work with a counselor as you adjust to transitions.  Preparing for anticipated changes and learning coping tools for current transitions can make the difference between ongoing unhappiness and finding peace of mind.
